Bought product, primarily on the Kohler name. The glass is extrely flimsy, nothing like the one I removed. The workman broke it twice. Aesthetically, I am extremely pleased, lots of mirror inside, works well with my renovation, but I am kind of cautious that I might break it sooner or later.

I bought this medicine cabinet in part because of Kohler's high quality reputation. But the cabinet arrived with a scratch in the smaller of the two mirrored doors (by design, one is narrower than the other). That door also was inadequately silvered at the bottom so there were small but unsightly blemishes where the mirror surface was missing. Kohler provides small plastic inserts to fill the unused holes inside the cabinet once the two shelves are placed the way you want them. But several of these plastic pieces were slightly too small so they didn't fit tightly in the holes. All in all, an unexpectedly poor quality performance from Kohler.

The good news is that when I called Kohler's 800# for a replacement door, they were extremely cooperative and quick to send me a replacement door. I didn't ask for insert substitutes because Kohler provides more than required in the initial package so that I was able to find enough that did fit.

The new door is defect free and both doors adjust very well. The end product is one that looks great with plenty of mirroring inside and out so I am quite pleased with the product after the dust has settled. I would give this final product 4 or 5 stars.

-Very well packaged, lots of styrofoam.
-Item requires complete assembly! Instructions were clear most of the time. There were a couple instances were instructions weren't obvious and had to be thought through.
-Main area measures (roughly) 15.5" x 15.5"
-The 3 cubbyholes measure (roughly) 5"wide x 5.5" tall.
-A second shelf would have been nice, but not a big deal for me.

I am considering buying another for my second bath.

I don't know if this is a seller issue or if this is a manufacturers problem (I assume they are two different entities) but there were screws missing, and the majority of this nice looking medicine cabinet, I put together with glue (looked like Elmers glue) which I can only imagine will not stay together for the long run. It does look nice but even Ikea is better quality then this.

For an inexpensive medicine cabinet it is fine. It is just used in the master bath so doesn't get a lot of use. If I were going to put one in a family bathroom I would invest a little more money. It opens just by pulling on the door with a magnetic close. Would not use it with children because it would be fingerprints on it all of the time!

Very happy with this product. The shelf almost doubles the storage space on the bottom of the medicine cabinet. The organizer holds small awkward items like razors upright - no more accidentally knocking things into the sink. Well worth the cost.

Love this medicine cabinet! It is one of my favorite things about my bathroom renovation. Inside mirrors are both beautiful and useful. Definitely has the wow factor when you open it. Frame does stand out from the wall due to the mirrors, but the cabinet itself is flush with the wall. Good storage space and glass shelves are a nice touch. Directions state don't use typical glass cleaners on it (?), especially don't spray directly on the glass. This may be a limitation for some.

Update to original review (12/2009): The outer mirror on the cabinet began to slip down (as if the adhesive were coming loose) and now needs to be replaced. Customer service, thus far, has been somewhat helpful and it appears that this door will be replaced or I will get a new medicine cabinet. Be sure to save original sales receipt/model info just in case. Otherwise, have still liked this medicine cabinet very much (would now give it 3 stars). Lesson learned on my reno: sometimes simple is better. My other hunk of junk medicine cabinet lasted 15+ years with no problems...

I looked all over town at Home Depot, Lowe's, and other local hardware stores for a descent recesssed medicine cabinet with no luck. Hence, my internet purchase. I was worried that I would have to return such a big item and that the shipping would be expensive. No return is necessary. This is a beautiful recessed medicine cabinet (it does come with parts for surface mounting). The installation was simple, once you get the hole cut out.

Nice medicine cabinet overall and certainly better than the ultra cheap ones at Home Depot but not as good as I expected for the price. The glass shelves fit very tightly and one corner of ours chipped during installation. The shelves are a little thin and the plastic holders are difficult.

Order the medicine cabinet, it arrived glass cracked. Called and was assured that they would send another one out and it would have clear packing instructions as to the product being glass. I was assured all would be done so the mirror would not be cracked. The second medicine cabinet came and was shattered once again worse than the first time. Called back and said I would give it one more try, this one was so shattered glass was coming out of the packaging. There was no protection in any of the boxes just thrown in the box. Needless to say never never order anything breakable from AMAZON
